ACTRIMS welcomes media participation at the Forum 2027. Complimentary press passes are available to qualified media upon credential approval.

Eligibility

Complimentary press passes are available to working journalists who submit appropriate credentials for review. Eligible applicants include reporters, writers, producers, editors, photographers, and bloggers representing print, online, or broadcast news organizations, as well as freelance journalists.

Press passes are not available to individuals or organizations producing content primarily for marketing, advertising, public relations, financial analysis, sales, or continuing education. This includes organizations that create content for promotional, commercial, or revenue-generating purposes.

Press Registration

All media representatives must complete the online registration process and upload supporting credentials for review. Applications will be evaluated based on professional affiliation and recent editorial work.

Please provide one of the following:

  • A letter of assignment or intent on official media outlet letterhead

  • A press or business card that clearly identifies your media affiliation

  • Recent examples of bylined reporting on healthcare, medicine, or science

Blogger and Independent Media Requirements

Bloggers, podcasters, and independent content creators may be eligible for press credentials if they produce original editorial content and have provided consistent coverage for at least four months prior to the Forum. Applicants must submit examples of recent work and audience-facing content focused on healthcare, medicine, science, or neurology.

  • The following embargo policies are strictly enforced. Media organizations that fail to comply may have their press credentials suspended, which may affect access to current and future scientific content.

    Scientific Content Embargo Policy

    All accepted abstracts will be published in the ACTRIMS Forum 2027 Abstract Catalog and online in the Multiple Sclerosis Journal.

    Abstract content, findings, and data may not be published, distributed, reported, or otherwise shared before the applicable embargo date and time listed below.

    Regular Abstracts

    Embargo lifts on March 4, 2027, at 7:00 a.m. MST.

    Cutting Edge Session Abstracts

    Embargo lifts on March 11, 2027, at 7:00 a.m. MST.

    Late-Breaking Abstracts

    Embargo lifts on March 13, 2027, at 7:00 a.m. MST.

    Press Release Policy

    Press releases related to abstracts accepted for presentation may not be issued or distributed before the applicable abstract embargo date and time listed above.

    Press releases containing research findings, presentation data, or results beyond the information included in the published abstract may not be issued or distributed until the research has been formally presented at the ACTRIMS Forum 2027.

    Investigators and study sponsors wishing to issue advance communications containing only high-level or topline information, without presentation data, must obtain prior approval from the ACTRIMS Program Committee. The Program Committee reserves the right to require revisions as a condition of approval.

    Although ACTRIMS does not routinely review external press releases, authors, institutions, and sponsors are responsible for ensuring that all communications comply with ACTRIMS embargo policies and accurately represent the research.

    All press releases referencing the meeting should use the official meeting name: ACTRIMS Forum 2027.

    Social Media Policy

    ACTRIMS encourages attendees, media, and stakeholders to share news and insights from the ACTRIMS Forum 2027 through social media while respecting all embargo policies.

    Abstract findings, research data, and presentation results may not be shared on social media before the applicable embargo date and time.

    Please include the official meeting hashtag in your social media posts: #ACTRIMSForum

  • ‍All press events and scheduled interviews with Forum speakers or attendees must receive written pre-approval from ACTRIMS no later than Monday, February 15, 2027. Please ensure that events and interviews do not confict with the Forum general sessions. Refer to the Program for the complete schedule.

    ‍For interview requests and secondary sources, please contact Karisa Trudgeon at ktrudgeon@actrims.org. Media must obtain permission from an abstract author or presenter before quoting or publishing scientific findings.

    ‍ To help maintain the schedule and out of respect for the presenters, please do not approach the stage before or after sessions. If your question is not addressed during the Q&A, please contact Karisa Trudgeon at ktrudgeon@actrims.org.

    ‍ ACTRIMS reserves the right to revoke press passes for failure to comply with these policies. ACTRIMS may also request copies of any video interviews recorded onsite.

  • ACTRIMS and/or affiliated trademarks and logos, including the Forum logo, are the property of ACTRIMS. They cannot be used, reproduced, or associated with any article or press release without the prior written permission of ACTRIMS.
