Press & Media

ACTRIMS welcomes media participation at the Forum 2025! Complimentary press passes are available upon approval of credentials.

Eligibility

Complimentary press passes are available to working journalists who provide the appropriate credentials. Any reporter, writer, producer, editor, photographer, or blogger with credentials from a print, online, or broadcast news organization, including freelance journalists, will be considered.

Companies or organizations producing publications, videos, and other products intended for marketing, advertising, financial analysis, or public relations purposes may not register for press passes. This includes any organization that intends to sell or distribute content for profit and/or continuing education (CE) opportunities.

Returning Press:

Returning press members who were registered for the ACTRIMS Forum 2024 will receive an email with a complimentary registration code by Thursday, August 15, 2024, to register for the Forum 2025. Use this code to register on our website. If any of your credentials have changed, please upload them here. If you haven't received your complimentary code by the specified date, contact us at info@actrims.org for assistance.

New Press:

New press members must complete the online application form and submit one of the following credentials for review:

  • A letter of assignment or intent on official letterhead

  • A copy of a press or business card clearly showing media affiliation

  • Recent copies of published bylined medical-related work

Bloggers seeking press passes must work for a media outlet, publication, or independent website or blog that has original coverage and must demonstrate they have been writing regular posts at least 4 months prior to the conference.

+ Embargo Policies

The following embargo policies are strictly enforced. Failure by media organizations to abide by the embargoes will result in suspension of press passes, which will affect access privileges to current and future abstracts presented at ACTRIMS programs.

ABSTRACT EMBARGO
All abstracts will be published in the ACTRIMS Forum 2025 Abstract Catalog and the Multiple Sclerosis Journal online.

  • Full text of Regular Abstracts are embargoed until published on Monday, February 17, 2025.
  • Full text of Cutting Edge Development Abstracts are embargoed until published on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
  • Full text of Late-Breaking Abstracts are embargoed until published on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

PRESS RELEASE POLICY
Press releases related to abstracts accepted for presentation are strictly prohibited until published in the ACTRIMS Forum 2025 Abstract Catalog. See Abstract Embargo dates above.

Press releases that contain featured research and presentation data outside of the abstract are strictly prohibited until presented at the Forum.

Investigators or study sponsors who wish to issue press releases that contain no actual presentation data but provide “topline” information in advance of the embargo date will need the approval of the Program Committee, who may require changes before permitting release. ACTRIMS does not review all outside press releases but will hold those representatives responsible for any misrepresentation.

Press releases that feature news related to the Forum should include the full name of the meeting: the ACTRIMS Forum 2025.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
Distributing news and information about the ACTRIMS Forum 2025 through social media is encouraged within the embargo restrictions. Please use the official hashtag in all social media posts: #ACTRIMSForum

+ Press Events, Interviews, & Other Activities

All press events and scheduled interviews with Forum speakers or attendees must receive written pre-approval from ACTRIMS no later than Monday, February 17, 2025. Please ensure that events and interviews do not overlap with the Forum general sessions. See the Program for full details.

For interview requests and secondary sources, please contact Karisa Trudgeon at ktrudgeon@actrims.org. Media must obtain approval from an abstract author or presenter before quoting or publishing scientific results.

To maintain the schedule and out of respect for the presenters, please refrain from approaching the stage before or after sessions. If you have any unanswered questions during Q&A, please contact Karisa Trudgeon at ktrudgeon@actrims.org.

All press members are invited and expected to attend the press conference on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

ACTRIMS reserves the right to revoke press passes for non-compliance with these policies. Additionally, ACTRIMS may request copies of any video interviews conducted onsite.
